We make great mac and cheese, and a lot of it! At Homeroom, we feature over a dozen made-to-order mac and cheese dishes on our menu. Pair your mac with the perfect locally sourced beer or wine, and make it a meal with our delicious veggies and homemade dessert.
Before founding Homeroom, I came home from a long workday as an attorney when I was struck with a craving for mac and cheese. No local restaurant served mac and cheese as satisfying as the one I grew up eating, so I pulled out my dad’s family recipe and started cooking.
That homemade mac and cheese would change the course of my life—and others’. Within a month, I boxed up my law degree and committed to chasing a crazy, delicious dream.
It was truly a labor of love — Homeroom opened its doors on Valentine’s Day 2011 in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland. Since then, it’s become a favorite among Bay Area restaurants and a constant source of comfort food. Homeroom is committed to a different way of doing business, employing a kick-ass, diverse team and preparing every mac and cheese to order using my family's recipe.
